The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development
Founded in 1960, the OECD is an organization of 30 mostly developed countries that seeks to establish and maintain the "rules of the road" for advanced economies and to assist the development of poorer countries. For our purposes, "OECD" is used as shorthand to refer to those countries whose wage scales, commitment to labor rights, environmental protection, and worker health and safety roughly approximate those in the United States.
