Not Made in China The A ListProducts Believed to be "not made in China"This important part of this site is just beginning to be formed. As we mention in the accompanying page on A List Changes, there are rules for determining "made in" status. For one short discussion on the web, click here. While the emphasis of this notice is on "made in the USA", the discussion also covers the more general area of "made in" regulation for country of origin. "Made in" status is determined primarily by the most recent work on the product (rather than its earlier "sources") and at least 51% of this work being in the country so designated. Necessarily, however, for our A List, we will focus on popular or consumer judgment rather than what would hold up in a court of law. Surprisingly, we have found it very difficult to develop the A List. Attempts to discover this information on the internet have so far yielded very little. This has led to devising the simple classification following this paragraph. While we hope to discover many more not made in China sources ourselves, we expect that the bulk of new additions will come from interested visitors to this site. One of the difficulties for all concerned will be keeping current. Given present trends, a product "not made in China" six months ago may be made there now. Again, we hope visitors will help reduce this problem. Manufacturers or product lines "not made in China".
